Websites for Hampshire, IL businesses
Hampshire grew from 5,563 people in the 2010 census to 7,667 in 2020, and the Census Bureau estimates it has kept growing since. A household that just moved to Hampshire, IL has no go-to plumber or lawn crew yet, so they search, and your website is often the first thing they see of you.
A village that keeps adding households
The village's own market profile puts the growth from 2010 to 2020 at 37.8%. The Census Bureau's QuickFacts for Hampshire estimates 9,266 residents on July 1, 2025, up 21.0% from April 2020. Households here are bigger than the state average, 3.27 people against 2.46 for Illinois, and owners live in 83.3% of homes (both from the 2020 to 2024 survey). Put together, that is a lot of homeowners who are new to the area and have not picked their local businesses yet. Without a neighbor to make the introduction, a search result and your website have to do it.
What we saw on 12 business websites in Hampshire
We opened each site in Safari on an iPhone-sized screen in October 2026 and noted only what owners can check on their own phones. We picked some of these sites because they looked weak and others because they looked strong, so this is not a random sample of the town.
- 4 of 12
- did not fit a phone screen: the page was shrunk or slid sideways
- 6 of 12
- had no request or quote form we could find, on the home page or the contact page
- 3 of 12
- had no phone number anywhere on the home page
- 2 of 12
- passed every check: fit the screen, a request form, a tap-to-call button and a valid HTTPS certificate
In Hampshire, 6 of the 12 sites we opened had no request form we could find, and 4 did not fit a phone screen. For a village full of new homeowners who are still choosing who to call, those are the first two things worth fixing.
What a new homeowner checks before calling
People letting a stranger into a house they just bought want to know who is coming. Before they pick up the phone, your site should answer that:
- Where you are based, in words: “based in Hampshire”, or your street and the village name. A site with no town on it could belong to a company two hours away.
- Who you are. A page with the owner's name and photo, the licenses and insurance you can show, and how long you have done the work, if that number is real.
- What your customers said, quoted word for word, next to a link that opens all of your Google reviews.
- Photos of jobs you did, taken on your own phone: a fence line, a new water heater, a cleaned-up yard. Ask before you show a customer's home.
- A phone number people can tap to call, plus a short request form for the family that finds you at 9 PM. Those messages should land in your inbox right away.
Name the towns past the village line
Hampshire sits in the northwest corner of Kane County, and the Hampshire Area Chamber of Commerce publishes one area guide for Hampshire, Burlington and Pingree Grove. If your work goes past the village limits, say so in a plain sentence, such as “Hampshire, Burlington, Pingree Grove and Huntley”, and use the same towns as the service areas in your Google Business Profile. If you also take jobs on farms or acreage outside town, write that down, along with the kind of work you do there. Then say where your area ends. A separate page for Burlington or Pingree Grove only makes sense once you have real jobs there to show; our article on town pages for service areas explains where that line is. Hampshire was also one of the towns in our check of 119 business websites around Elgin.
Who would build it
We are builtlit, the US name of built.lt: Robertas and Arminas, two people who build websites from Kaunas, Lithuania. We have not built one for a Hampshire business, or for anyone in the US, yet. Every client we have is in Lithuania or Sweden. So we start with the work instead of a promise: a 15 minute call about what you do and the towns you cover, then a free first version of your site, ready in 2 days. You click around it on your phone and decide. Say no and you owe nothing. Get your free preview.

Questions owners ask
Can we meet in Hampshire?
Yes, until November 18, 2026, when Robertas leaves the Chicago area. Tell us on the free preview form where your shop or office is and what day suits you. Once that date passes, we keep in touch by phone, WhatsApp and email.
My jobs are mostly outside the village. Should my site still say Hampshire?
Yes, if Hampshire is your base. Lead with it, then name the other towns you cover in a normal sentence, and keep that list the same as your service areas on Google. Service-area businesses on Google Maps shows how to set up the Google side.
Should I make a separate page for Burlington or Pingree Grove?
Only when you have real jobs there to show: photos, what you did and reviews from those customers. Until then, one page per service with your towns written out is the honest setup, and it keeps you clear of the copy-paste town pages Google calls doorways.
Are any of your clients near Hampshire?
No, none yet. The sites we built for businesses in Lithuania and Sweden are live on our work page. With the free first version, you see a working site for your own business before any money changes hands.

We build the first version free, in 2 days. You click around it, then decide. If it is not for you, you owe nothing.
