Restaurant websites with a menu you can change yourself

Before a guest drives over, they check the menu, the hours and the address on their phone. Your site shows all three on the first screen, and when a price changes you fix one line yourself instead of uploading a new PDF.

Where it goes wrong today

1

The menu is a PDF

A PDF menu has to be pinched and zoomed on a phone, takes a while on mobile data and is often an old version. A guest who only wanted to check one price gives up and looks at the place next door.

2

Prices and hours that are out of date

You raised a few prices in the spring and started closing early on Mondays. The website still says otherwise, and the guest who drove over on a Monday night remembers it.

3

Everything goes through the phone during the rush

When the only way to book a table or order takeout is to call, the phone rings exactly when nobody can answer it. A reservation request or an order link takes those guests without pulling anyone off the line.

What your site does

A menu in real text that you can change yourself

Your menu lives on the page as text: sections, dishes, descriptions and prices, readable on a phone without zooming. You get a simple editor where you change a price, mark a dish as sold out or add a special, then publish. Next to the menu sit the two things guests do next: reserve a table and order.

How a customer uses it

  1. The guest opens the menu and reads it like a page, with the price next to every dish.
  2. They tap Reserve and send the date, time and party size, or go straight to the booking system you already use.
  3. Or they tap Order and land on your pickup and delivery ordering.
  4. When something changes, you open the editor, fix the line and publish.

What your site can include

  • Menu as real text with prices, in your own sections
  • An editor for prices, specials and sold out dishes
  • Allergen and dietary notes next to dishes, if you want them
  • Reservation request with date, time and party size, or your booking link
  • Order links for pickup and delivery, easy to reach on a phone
  • Hours, holiday hours, address, directions and tap-to-call on the first screen
  • Real photos of your food and your dining room
  • Google Maps and the SEO basics, on your own domain with SSL

We agree what goes into your site on the 15 minute call, and the fixed price covers all of it.

Questions owners ask

We already have a PDF menu. Can you use it?

Yes. Send the PDF or even a photo of the printed menu, and we turn it into a real menu page with sections and prices. After that you change it in the editor, or on the optional care plan you send us the new version and we do it.

Do you replace our reservation or ordering service?

No. If you already take bookings or orders through a service, we link to it from the menu and the first screen, where guests look for it. If you do not, the site takes reservation requests that reach you right away, and you confirm them.

Will the site load fast on a phone?

We build for phones first. The median Google mobile speed score across 11 of our live client sites is 89, measured October 18, 2026 (range 75 to 96). A text menu is also much lighter than a big PDF.

What does it cost?

A fixed price, agreed on a 15 minute call before any work starts. We build the first version free and have it on your phone in 2 days, so you click around it before deciding. If it is not for you, you owe nothing. Get your free preview.

Have you built a site for a restaurant?

Yes, in Lithuania: El Sultan above is a kebab house in Vilnius. We have no US clients yet. Robertas, who runs builtlit, is in the Chicago area until November 18, 2026 and happy to come by before or after service.
