Group bus tours, Utena, Lithuania
A tour website the organizer updates herself
A tour organizer's lineup changes every few weeks. One trip sells out, another is canceled because of the weather, a third appears because a bus came free. A site that needs a developer for every one of those changes goes stale before it pays off.

Before: a living trip list and phone-only bookings
Keliauk su Rasa (Travel with Rasa) runs bus trips from Utena: day trips around Lithuania, vacation trips and routes abroad. She also leads theatrical tours herself, in costume and in character. The trip list is never fixed. Dates move, seats run out, and the season changes the destinations. A site only a developer can change means either a steady stream of small bills or, more often, an outdated list people stop trusting. Bookings came in by phone only, so every evening call nobody picked up was a lost seat on the bus that nobody knew about. Trips are paid for in advance, often by older people for whom sending money through an unfamiliar website is a serious decision. The site had to look like a real, working business with a name, a face and a phone number.
What we built
- Every trip is its own page with the program, the price, the departure point and buttons to book or call. Trips are grouped three ways: around Lithuania, vacation trips and abroad.
- An admin panel where she adds new trips and changes dates, prices and open seats, fills the photo gallery, edits the theatrical tour descriptions and even the privacy policy. None of it has to go through us.
- Booking without prepayment, the way this business already works. The request lands in her email and her panel right away, and the traveler gets a confirmation email. A request left in the evening no longer depends on someone answering the phone.
- Two prices on every trip: the trip itself, and how much cash to bring for tickets or lunch. That was her idea, not ours, and it clears up the most common mix-up on the day of the trip.
- Seats left, shown on every trip. She sets the number, so it is real, and a full trip switches to sold out instead of quietly disappearing.
- A printable trip list, and trip dates you can download into a phone calendar. Part of this audience still carries the list on paper, and the site works with that.
- A gift voucher the buyer fills in on the page, with the amount and the names, then prints as a landscape page. No phone call to the organizer needed.
- An A+ button in the header that makes all the text on the page bigger, for an audience that skews older.
- Past trips don't disappear. They are marked as completed and stay up, which shows the trips really happen.
How it works now
The site is live at keliauksurasa.lt and she keeps it up to date herself. Before launch we removed every stock photo and kept only pictures actually taken on the trips. Then we went through the site with her page by page, twice. Almost none of her notes were about colors or fonts. They were about printing, about running several theatrical tours at once, and about what she wanted to change without us.
A question worth asking any web designer
If what you sell changes every week, like trips, events, class schedules or a daily menu, being able to edit it yourself is not an extra. It is what keeps the site true. Before you hire anyone, ask straight out: what will I be able to change myself, and what won't I?
What we don't show here
We don't publish booking counts, traffic or Google rankings. We don't have access to her Search Console, and her bookings are her business data, not our scoreboard.
