Websites that help Naperville businesses stand out

Naperville is the third-largest city in Illinois and, in the city's own words, the state's second-largest retail economy. With that many businesses after the same customers, your website has to help you stand out and give people a reason to pick you over the next result.

A big city where most homes are owner-occupied

The city's About Naperville page gives both rankings and a population of more than 150,000. The Census Bureau's QuickFacts has the detail: 149,540 people in the 2020 census, an estimated 153,114 on July 1, 2025, owners living in 74.8% of homes, and a median owner-occupied home value of $540,200, about twice the Illinois figure of $263,300 (2020 to 2024 estimates). A new roof, a kitchen or a furnace for a house like that is a decision people take time over. Expect them to open a few websites, look at the photos, read the reviews and check whether you do the exact job they need before they call anyone.

Where we come from

builtlit is the US side of built.lt, a two-person web studio in Kaunas, Lithuania. All of our clients are in Lithuania or Sweden; none is in Naperville or anywhere else in the US. So we do not ask you to trust a portfolio from far away. We build a first version of your own site in 2 days, free, and you decide after clicking through it. If you would rather not go ahead, you owe nothing. Until November 18, 2026, Robertas is staying near Chicago and can meet you face to face.

What we saw on 8 business websites in Naperville

We opened each site in Safari on an iPhone-sized screen in October 2026 and noted only what owners can check on their own phones. We picked some of these sites because they looked weak and others because they looked strong, so this is not a random sample of the town.

2 of 8
did not fit a phone screen: the page was shrunk or slid sideways
4 of 8
had no request or quote form we could find, on the home page or the contact page
3 of 8
had no phone number anywhere on the home page
2 of 8
passed every check: fit the screen, a request form, a tap-to-call button and a valid HTTPS certificate

We opened fewer sites in Naperville than in the towns closer to Elgin, so read these numbers as a snapshot. Even so, 4 of 8 had no request form, in a market where people compare several businesses and a form is the easiest way to reach the one they pick.

Photos from your own jobs

A stock photo of a perfect kitchen could be on anyone's site. Photos from your own jobs help because a competitor cannot copy them. Take them on every job, before and after from the same spot, and caption each one with the job and the part of town: “Cedar fence, 140 feet, south Naperville” tells a customer more than “Our work”. A phone camera is enough. Ask the homeowner before you post their house. Job photos that win work has a shot list for each trade.

Reviews, quoted and linked

Pick reviews that describe a real job and quote them word for word, with the customer's name as it appears on Google and a link to your profile so anyone can check them. Ask every customer when the job is done, with a direct link to the review form. Google's rules forbid offering anything in return for a review and asking only the customers you expect to be happy, so ask everyone, every time. How to get more Google reviews has a routine that stays inside the rules, and how to respond to negative reviews covers the other side.

A page for each job you want more of

A one-line list like “roofing, siding, gutters, windows” gives a careful customer nothing to compare. A page for each main job does: what the job includes, how you price it, how long it usually takes, photos of that job, the questions people ask you about it, and a request form. Someone searching for gutter guards in Naperville should land on a page about gutter guards, not on your home page. Start with the two or three jobs that bring in the most work and add more as you collect photos. Service pages or a one-page site helps you decide what you need.

Questions owners ask

Can we meet in Naperville?

Yes. Robertas is around Chicago until November 18, 2026. Send your details through the free preview form with a time that works, and we meet at your office, your shop or a job site. After that date we keep going by phone, WhatsApp and email.

There are a lot of businesses like mine in Naperville. What on a website actually sets me apart?

What nobody else has: photos of your own jobs, reviews from your own customers quoted word for word, your name and face on an about page, and a clear page for each job you do. A nicer template does not do it, because anyone can buy the same one. We do not use templates.

How many service pages do I need?

One for each main job people search for, starting with the two or three that matter most to you. A page earns its place when it has its own photos, details and questions. If you would only swap one word, keep those jobs together on one page.

Can I show my Google reviews on my site?

Yes. Quote them exactly, link to your Google profile so people can read the rest, and leave star markup off your own reviews. How to show Google reviews on your website explains why.

What does it cost?

You hear one fixed price on the 15 minute call, and nothing starts until you agree to it. You pay once and the site is yours, on your own domain with SSL; the monthly care plan is optional. More on our pricing page.
